On behalf of African football great and President of Liberia George Weah, Kwame Ayew, a former Black Stars player, paid a $10,000 visit to the family of the late Christian Atsu on Wednesday.
President Weah, however, expressed his sincere sorrow upon learning of the unimaginable loss of Christian Atsu, a victim of the recent earthquake in Turkey who was also a neighbor, a younger brother, and a young friend.
“I got the chance to contact him during his early training when he was just starting out in the game of soccer because I personally knew him,” George Weah said.
“I would like to express my deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the bereaved family and to his friends everywhere for this irreplaceable loss.” “Rest in peace, little brother,” he added.
